Resource download – eczema skincare maintenance routine and management plan
—Download the itchy baby co. eczema skincare maintenance routine and management plan—
The key to managing your child’s eczema is sticking to an everyday eczema skincare maintenance routine which aims to put the most amount of moisture into the skin.
The best opportunity we have to put moisture into the skin is bathtime. Itchy baby co.™ bath soaks leave a thin film on the skin which acts as a barrier to trap moisture to stop the skin from drying out. They also have anti-inflammatory and anti-itch properties.
However keeping eczema skin nourished and hydrated doesn’t stop there. What you do immediately after you take your child out of the bath is important. Within two minutes of taking your child out of the bath and while their skin is still damp generously apply moisturiser to their skin. This will further lock in moisture and mix with the skin’s natural barrier to keep irritants out. To maintain the hydration in your child’s skin you will likely also need to moisturise throughout the day.
Eczema flare ups, despite our very best efforts often can’t be avoided. To help you find a skincare routine which is effective for your child’s eczema and to know what to do if your child has an eczema flare up, itchy baby co. have developed eczema skincare maintenance routine and management plan which is a resource we encourage you to download and take with you the next time you see your doctor to discuss the best routine to manage your child’s eczema.
As always, with love and care, Julia and the itchy baby co. team. x
